John Scourias
John has over 10 years of experience in measurement and verification (M&V) of energy savings for a wide variety of energy efficiency projects, primarily in institutional and industrial facilities in Ontario and Québec.
He has been responsible for all aspects of M&V for various energy efficiency and behind-the-meter generation projects participating in the IESO Process and Systems Upgrade incentive program, mostly in the institutional and industrial sectors. This included the development of contractual M&V plans and baseline energy models, operational verification, energy savings analysis, and M&V report development for project incentives up to $10,000,000. He has also provided savings analysis and M&V reporting for a number of institutional energy performance contracts, including hospitals and colleges, and performed energy audits and energy simulations. Prior to discovering energy efficiency and green building, in his previous professional life he was involved in the development and testing of cellular telecommunications software.
John is a Professional Engineer registered in the province of Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Building Engineering). He also holds a Master of Mathematics (Computer Science), and a Bachelor of Science (Physics and Computer Science). He is a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and LEED Accredited Professional.
