David Jump

Professional Engineer who has developed company practices in building commissioning, energy auditing, and measurement and verification (M&V) of energy savings in the commercial and industrial sectors.

He has developed meter-based approaches and software tools that improve confidence in energy efficiency projects while reducing cost, and developed strategies that improve efficiency in hard-to-reach markets. David conducts applied research for utilities and state and federal agencies on how M&V based on smart-meter energy use data can streamline, improve confidence, and reduce costs in acquiring energy efficiency benefits for building owners, efficiency program managers, and public policy agencies. David received his BS and MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and was a Visiting Scholar at the Institüt für Technische Thermodynamik in Stuttgart, Germany.
